What do I need to know about air con maintenance?
After air conditioning installation, we recommend you get a maintenance service every 6 to 12 months. This depends on how much you use the air con and the quality of air in your neighbourhood. This ensures that the unit will work optimally with clean filters and without any blockages. If you don’t maintain your AC in regular intervals, you will experience a drop in performance.
What are the factors that increase the cost of installing an air conditioner?
Be sure to request a quote for your exact needs regarding air conditioning installation:
- System brand and model
- System size
- Installation site access
- Meter board upgrades
- Ductwork length
- Interconnecting cable length
- Refrigeration piping
- Existing system removal

What is the best place to install a split system in a house?
In the bedrooms, each split should be located in a place where the air does not flow directly over beds. Throughout the rest of a home, it is recommended that each unit be placed in the centre of each room to provide fair airflow.
What is a back-to-back air conditioning installation?
It is a way of installing wall-mounted split systems where the distance between the indoor and outdoor units is the smallest possible. This is achieved by installing them on the same wall, back to back, with one outside and one inside and only separated by the wall itself. Since the appliances are close together, less equipment is used than in other installations, making this one the cheapest there is.
Another way to save costs when installing an AC is the so-called side-to-back installation. Here, the indoor unit is installed in the upper corner of the room. The outside compressor is placed at ground level and perpendicular to the indoor unit. Both installation types allow the water produced by the internal unit to flow toward the external unit so that the latter expels it.
How long does it take to install a split AC system?
This will vary depending on the type of system you are having installed. Split systems can be fairly straightforward to get in place. If the installation takes place in an area where no other air conditioner has been placed, setting up the new unit may take 4-8 hours. Removing existing units and older wiring can add time to the project, in some cases extending the entire installation to a full day.
In contrast, a ducted system will take a bit more time. Installing the ductwork itself can take one to two days. It will be even longer if the existing ductwork has to be repaired or completely removed and replaced. The air con unit itself will also need several hours for air conditioning installation including placement, proper wiring, and testing.
